The Mexican Government Excellence Scholarships offer fully funded study opportunities for international students who wish to pursue undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, research, medical specialty, and academic mobility programmes in Mexico.
The scholarship programme is provided by the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) through the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID).
The 2026 scholarship call is open to applicants from more than 170 countries under bilateral agreements, multilateral cooperation programmes, and special arrangements. About 90 Mexican higher education institutions are participating in the programme, offering opportunities across different fields of science, technology, humanities, and social sciences.

- Admission letter from an eligible Mexican institution
- Letter of commitment to return to the home country after completion of studies
- Acceptance of scholarship terms and conditions
- Birth certificate
- Valid passport or government-issued identification
- Medical certificate confirming good health
- Spanish language certificate where required
- Declaration confirming that all information provided is accurate
All documents must be submitted in Spanish or accompanied by official Spanish translations.
