Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

License

      Current PTA License: Must hold a current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the U.S.

      Massachusetts License: Licensed to practice in the State of Massachusetts.

Education

      Accredited Program: Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Experience

      Professional Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Language

      English Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.

Resident Care Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Advocate Healthcare, your primary responsibilities will include:

Physical Therapy Treatments

      Administer Treatments: Provide medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing.

      Service Delivery: Deliver skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Communication

      Relay Information: Respond to service requests by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist.

      Patient Interaction: Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and caregivers to provide support and education.

Plan Implementation

      Modify Plans: Implement and modify the patient’s physical therapy plan of treatment with PT supervision.

      Monitoring: Monitor patient response to treatment intervention and modify the approach as clinically appropriate with interdisciplinary team collaboration.

Measurement and Recording

      Record Data: Measure and record patient’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.

      Documentation: Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely, complying with all company and state/federal regulatory requirements.

Support and Education

      Clinical Support: Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

      Training: Participate in collaborative care conferences and provide training to patients, caregivers, and community partners.

Training and Education Responsibilities

In addition to resident care, you will be involved in various training and educational activities, including:

Care Conferences

      Participate: Engage in collaborative care conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.

Staff Training

      Coordinate Training: Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other Care staff.

Patient Education

      Educate Patients: Provide education and training to patients, caregivers, and community partners to ensure proper understanding and execution of therapy plans.

Professional Training

      Assist in Training: Assist with the training and education of facility and professional partners.

      Compliance: Ensure compliance with mandatory education, training, and competency programs.

Student Development

      Mentorship: Participate in PTA student development and educational programs to mentor and guide future professionals in the field.
