Your Role

Responsibilities

As an Underwriting Support Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Inbox Management: Efficiently managing and coordinating tasks in the underwriting central inbox, ensuring all inquiries and requests are handled promptly and accurately. This involves sorting through emails, prioritizing tasks, and delegating them to the appropriate team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all tasks, both big and small, are addressed with high accuracy and efficiency. This includes double-checking all information for accuracy, following up on outstanding tasks, and ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Team Contribution: Focusing on supporting the overall delivery of the underwriting team by handling tasks within specified timeframes. This includes assisting with the preparation of underwriting documents, updating records, and providing administrative support to the underwriters.
  • Communication: Maintaining clear and professional communication with team members and stakeholders. This involves keeping everyone informed of the status of tasks, providing regular updates, and addressing any issues that arise promptly.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records of all tasks and activities. This includes maintaining organized files, ensuring that all documents are up-to-date, and providing documentation support for compliance and auditing purposes.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have the following qualities and skills:

  • Strong Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook and Excel) is essential for managing tasks and communication. Familiarity with other software tools and systems used in underwriting and insurance operations will be an advantage.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for interacting effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients. The ability to convey information clearly and concisely is essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail. This includes being thorough in reviewing documents, following procedures accurately, and ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
