Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Oxford University Weidenfeld Hoffmann Scholarship, applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:
- Apply for a new full-time graduate course at the University of Oxford.
- Receive an offer of admission for an eligible course.
- Be ordinarily resident in one of the eligible countries, including Nigeria and many developing or emerging economies.
- Demonstrate excellent academic achievement.
- Show strong leadership potential and professional commitment.
- Explain how their chosen field of study relates to their long-term career goals and how it will contribute to improving public life in their home country or region.
- Intend to return to their country of ordinary residence after completing their studies.
Applicants who already hold deferred offers for the relevant academic year or are currently studying at Oxford, unless already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholars, are not eligible.

Eligible countries include Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and many others listed by the University of Oxford.
How To Apply
Interested candidates should first submit an application for an eligible graduate programme at the University of Oxford before the relevant December or January admission deadline for their chosen course.
During the graduate application process, applicants must select the Oxford University Weidenfeld Hoffmann Scholarship under the University of Oxford scholarships section of the application form.
Applicants must also complete and upload the required Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement together with their graduate application before the applicable deadline.
Applications are reviewed alongside admission applications, and only candidates who meet both the academic and scholarship requirements will be considered.
Successful scholars are expected to participate fully in the leadership programme throughout their studies while maintaining excellent academic performance.
